IN THIS ISSUE 🌱
Good Morning {{first_name}}!
It’s Tuesday - which means that it’s time for The Lifecycle Brief! This week, I want to dig into an article that surfaced in my inbox this week about some LinkedIn metrics.
The article reveals that LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms convert at roughly 13%, whereas landing pages convert somewhere in the range of 2%-4% - depending on the source.
Here’s the kicker - everyone who runs ads may be running to change up those landing pages to lead forms. But - hold your horses. Track your actual ROI before ruining your funnel.
Ready to learn why? Let’s dive in.

THE 13% EVERYONE’S QUOTING ✨
CRM FOUNDATIONS THAT BREAK THE SYSTEM
Why conversion numbers don’t matter in the platform - as much
Whenever we see an article like this that pushes a conversion number on a form or a landing page, it’s super common for people to think of “conversion” as a sale. Cha-ching.
But in most cases, the data comes from the ad platform and counts as an action. Conversion = phone click. Conversion = form submission. It doesn’t equal a sale.
The friction is that most marketers who run paid ads never have access to a company’s CRM. In other words, they don’t know how much revenue those landing pages or lead forms actually generate.
What you should be looking at is the ROAS and actual revenue numbers combined with lead source.
Dreamdata's 2026 LinkedIn Ads Benchmarks Report found LinkedIn delivering 121% ROAS from first-party revenue data, ahead of Google Search at 67% and Meta at 51%, which is a stronger argument than the form conversion stat alone because it's tied to actual revenue, not click-to-lead.

WHERE DOES THE DATA GO FROM THERE? 🌊
THE PROBLEM
More funnel data to take into consideration
Of course, the more you dig into the actual data, the more you may realize is happening between that initial form conversion and the actual sale.
That 13% figure people are focused on tells you nothing about a lead becoming an MQL, getting worked by sales, turning into an opportunity, and then closing.
Looking at these numbers and actual ROI conversion numbers may provide more context as to whether switching from landing page to lead form is worth the risk.

TOP STORIES IN THE INDUSTRY
What’s happening in digital this week
🩷 Dreamdata's 2026 LinkedIn Ads Benchmarks Report — First-party revenue data shows LinkedIn delivering 121% ROAS against 88 touchpoints and a 281-day B2B buying journey, ahead of Google Search and Meta.
🧡 LinkedIn's new Calendly integration for Lead Gen Forms — Prospects can now book a meeting straight from the form, no redirect or email follow-up needed, closing the gap between form fill and booked call.
💛 2026 benchmark roundup, traxy.ai — Agencies are predicting the early-adopter 13% rate will normalize to 8% to 11% as more advertisers pile into the format and competition rises.
💚 Growform, form quality framework — Argues teams should track form-to-MQL and MQL-to-SQL rate rather than completion rate, since a form that maximizes submissions can still produce a weak pipeline.
💙 LinkedIn Help, hidden fields documentation — Confirms hidden fields can pass campaign, ad set, and source metadata directly into CRM-bound lead records at the point of conversion.

FINAL THOUGHTS 💡
CLOSING THE LOOP
TL;DR
One of my biggest pet peeves in marketing is siloed data. While the ad platform data is great for diagnostics to determine why ads may be underperforming, you need to track the ad performance all the way through the funnel to get the true impact of paid media.
How was this issue!?
P.S.
Quick one, yes or no: does your team actually know which form converted your last five closed deals?
