WE ALL LOVE A GOOD ROAS 🧪

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads
Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:
After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.
The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.
“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”
Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.

Good Morning {{first_name}}!
It’s Tuesday - which means it’s time for The Lifecycle Brief! This week, I want to review something I learned last week in Boston. I attended the UNBOUND conference, and it was phenomenal (as it is every year).
Of course, AI was another big point of discussion, and we all agreed that we worked more because of AI - not less. And the data discussion continued, focusing on why context is so important. Because AI without context is worse than not using AI at all.
Needless to say, ‘context’ was the theme of this year’s UNBOUND.
Ready to learn why? Let’s dive in.

NEW HACKS FOR THE CRM INFRASTRUCTURE ✨
CRM FOUNDATIONS THAT BREAK THE SYSTEM
New year, new terms - ‘growth context’
‘Growth context’ was the new term dropped at UNBOUND this year. Last year, it was loop marketing. This year, it’s all about context - a layer that explains “why” something happened in the CRM, not just that it happened.
The context layer is interesting in that it supports a few new rollouts that provide more context to CRMs. For example, the CRM can now update itself. If you are in a sales meeting, and budget and timelines are discussed, the CRM is supposedly smart enough to update the proper fields on the deal card itself.
Because we all know - AI means nothing without the proper data context. And HubSpot wants to make sure you have enough context to work with - even if it means the CRM does the updates for you.

BREEZE AI GETS MASSIVE UPDATE 🌊
THE PROBLEM
The CRM can now update itself…
So, how does the CRM update itself? Well, we don’t actually fully know yet. But I can imagine you’d have to manually plot a few things. For example, “if budget is mentioned”, then work through the meeting transcript and populate the “amount” field with the budget number.
Conditional logic.
In addition, Breeze has received a massive update. It’s now becoming an agent in itself and can do a lot more than before. It’s meant to truly serve as an AI agent that works alongside your teams, including analyzing campaigns.

DATA PROVIDES THE CONTEXT FOR EVERYTHING ⏳
BREAKING DOWN THE FIX
Where do we start?
With the new feature for ‘context’ and a CRM that fills itself in, the goal is that things will become much easier for business owners and sales reps when it comes to leveraging AI.
The idea is that you no longer have to tell your reps to “go fill it in” for every object in HubSpot. You can even get creative a do a Context Completeness score at the company level, or deal level - a basic simple rollup that checks whether certain fields are filled in.

FINAL THOUGHTS 💡
CLOSING THE LOOP
TL;DR
HubSpot didn’t invent a new problem. The lack of data and context in a CRM will render AI useless or wildly inaccurate. And with the use of credits in HubSpot, you are literally throwing your money away if you aren’t getting the most contextual answer possible. Context is everything.
How was this issue!?
P.S.
P.S. I spent part of this week explaining Growth Context to a client at UNBOUND, and we agree that there’s a lot of ‘contextual clean-up to do.’
In the same boat? Let me know. Maybe we can swap ideas.
